Delete Workspace#

sysman sysadmin

You can delete an entire workspace, including all sub-workspaces and items. This is the only way to permanently remove information from the database.

You must have System Administrator or System Manager permissions.

Warning

You should consider setting the status of the workspace to “archived” instead of deleting a workspace. This makes the workspace disappear in virtually all lists and selection fields, but everything remains in the database. Moreover, this is reversible. Deleting a workspace is irreversible, everything is removed from the database!

  • Switch to the Administration > Workspaces perspective. Alternatively, click on the workspace bar in the left navigation area.

  • Either use the context menu in the left navigation area or select the workspace in the left navigation area and click the Delete button.

  • A warning will be displayed, unless the workspace has no items, i.e. it was just created and has never been used. If you confirm, a second warning will appear. If you confirm again, the workspace with all subspaces and items will be deleted.

The workspaces with all associated items and properties will now be deleted from the database. The deletion process is logged in the server log with date, time and user.
