Tab Permissions#
The possibilities you have when working with a specific item depend on your roles for the associated workspace and your relationship to this item. This section describes the behavior of Allegra regarding item permissions.
The following tabs are disabled when you create a new element:
“History”, as there is no history for a new item.
“Comments”, as it is not meaningful to comment on an item that has not yet been created.
The tab “Attachments” is always active. The tab “Work/Costs” is active if work and cost tracking are activated for the workspace itself and if you have one of these rights:
Add expenses
View all expenses
Change budget
You indirectly receive these rights through the roles you have in this workspace. The tab “Observer” is activated if you have the permission “View all observers” or “Change observer list”. You indirectly receive these rights through the roles you have in this project.
The tab “Version Control” is activated if there are links between this element and the version control repository set up in this system.
Hint
There may be entries here even though you have not set up version control for the project to which this item belongs. In this case, it is likely that the link comes from a repository of another workspace. Allegra does not suppress these links when a workspace does not have a repository for version control set up.
In inactive workspaces, most buttons are disabled. If a workspace is not in the status “inactive”, you have the following options.
For the “Comments” tab:
The Add, Delete, and Edit buttons are always active.
Individual comments can be edited and removed by the author and the project administrator.
For the “Attachments” tab:
All buttons are always active, unless the workspace is inactive. In an inactive workspace, you can only download the attachment.
For the “Efforts” tab:
Add efforts: This function is active when the workspace is active and you have the permission “Add efforts” through the role(s) you have in this workspace.
Edit and delete efforts: is active when the workspace is in the “active” status. You can change or delete an expense when a workspace has been archived or closed.
Individual expense entries can be edited/deleted by the project administrator and the creator of the expenses.
“Total budget” button: active if you have the “Change budget” permission through the roles you have in this workspace.
“Remaining budget” button: Is active if you have the “Change budget” permission or are the current responsible or manager of this item.
For the Observer tab:
Add readers/Edit/Add/Delete: You have the “Change observer list” permission through the roles you have in this workspace.
Remove me as editor/Remove me as reader: This is always active. You can always view an observer list.
Add me as editor: Always active when you create an item. For an existing item, this is only active if you have the “Change” permission for this workspace.
Add me as reader: You must have the “Read” permission for this workspace.
