Tab permissions#
What you may do with an item depends on your roles in the associated workspace and your relationship to the item. This section describes the permission behavior for each tab.
When you create a new item, the following tabs are disabled:
History — a new item does not yet have a history.
Comments — comments only make sense once the item exists.
The Attachments tab is always active.
The Efforts tab is active when the workspace has work and cost tracking enabled and you hold one of these rights:
Add expenses
View all expenses
Change budget
You receive these rights indirectly through the roles you hold in the workspace.
The Watchers tab is active when you have one of the rights “View all watchers” or “Change watcher list”. You also receive these rights indirectly through your roles.
The Version control tab is active when links exist between this item and the version control repository set up in this system.
Hint
The tab may contain entries even though you have not set up version control for the item’s project. In that case the link probably comes from the repository of another workspace. Allegra does not suppress such references.
For inactive workspaces, most buttons are disabled. If the workspace is active, the following applies:
For the Comments tab:
The
Add,DeleteandEditbuttons are always active.Individual comments are changed or removed by the author — or by the project administrator.
For the Attachments tab:
All buttons are active as long as the workspace is not inactive. For an inactive workspace you can only download attachments.
For the Efforts tab:
Add efforts: active when the workspace is active and you have the “Add efforts” right through a role.
Edit and delete efforts: active when the workspace is active. You can no longer change or delete an effort once the workspace is archived or closed.
Individual expense entries are changed or deleted by the project administrator and by the entry’s creator.
Total budget: active when you have the “Change budget” right through a role.
Remaining budget: active when you have the “Change budget” right or are the current responsible or manager of the item.
For the Watchers tab:
Add or delete readers/editors: requires the “Change watcher list” right through one of your roles.
Remove myself as editor/reader: always active. You can see a watcher list at any time.
Add myself as editor: always active when creating an item. For an existing item only if you have the “Change” right for the workspace.
Add myself as reader: requires the “Read” right for the workspace.
