Managing item statuses

Managing item statuses#

sysman sysadmin

You extend the list of available item statuses, change or delete existing ones. Per item type, workspace type, or workspace, you define which statuses actually appear in the user interface.

You must be logged in as a system manager or system administrator.

Item statuses describe the position of an item in the workflow. You choose the names freely.

  1. Go to Administration > Items > Statuses.

  2. Change, add, or delete statuses. You can assign an icon (16 × 16 px, GIF or PNG) and a style for the item overview to each entry. Each status carries a type flag:

  • active: “Open” statuses such as “opened”, “analyzed”, “implemented”. The item is open and needs further actions. Items with this flag appear in most views.

  • closed: Statuses such as “closed” or “suspended”. The item is done or postponed.

  • inactive: obsolete, no longer in use.

  • locked: the item can no longer be edited.

Attention

When you rename an entry, the change may not appear in the user interface. This happens when localizations exist for the selection entries — which is the case for all predefined entries. Allegra then shows the localized value, not the label you assigned.
